Biomes: What organisms live there? main animals and plants

TROPICAL FOREST:
Plants: trees and plants growing in vertical layers and also covered with mosses, vines. Orchids and bromeliads.

Animals: tree-dwellers like monkeys, birds, snakes and bats.






SAVANNA:
Plants: grasslands with scattered trees that grow rapidly.
Animals: grazing animals such as zebras, wilde-beest, antelope, and in Australia kangaroos as weel as insect. Meat eaters on the African Savanna include lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Also rodents, snakes, worms and arthropods.


DESERT:
Plants: due to the hot temperatures, they have little or no plant life.

Animals: The kangaroo rat and small burrowers are active in the cool evening because they don´t need water.


CHAPARRAL:
Plants: it has dense evergreen shrubs.
Animals: Deers, birds and rodents that feed on the shrubs and their seeds, as well as lizards and snakes.




TEMPERATE GRASSLAND:
Plants: the deep, nutrient-rich soil supports a variety of grass and other plants.
Animals: large mammals that prevent the growth of woody shrub and trees.







TEMPERATE DECIDUOUS FOREST:
Plants: Deciduous trees and large trees such as maples, oaks, beeches, and hickory.
Animals: Mammals like deers, squirrels, chipmunks, foxes and bears, microorganisms are found there too.








CONIFEROUS FOREST:
Plants: towering cone-bearing evergreen trees souch as pine, spruce, fir, and hemlock.
Animals: Typical taiga animals like hares, moose elk, wolves and bears.







TUNDRA:
Plants: mosses, lichens, and grasses thrive, but large plants are rare since their roots can not penetrate.

Animals: artic hare and snowy owl. mosquitoes fill the air sometimes.
